Who are we?
Medeecal is a private foundation registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of The Gambia under the number 2022/C18294 since 29th of March 2022.
We proudly work in synergy with healthcare stakeholders in Africa with the ambition to improve access to healthcare in the continent.
Who are our doctors?
All our doctors are qualified in general medicine and in certain specialties such as surgery. They have a solid experience in hospitals or health centres in The Gambia and master the local languages and pathologies.
How much costs a consultation?
The online consultations are actually FREE.
How to book an appointment?
1• Click on Get Appointment.
2• Fill the form with the patient info.
3• Select your doctor, the time and the purpose of the consultation.
4• And it’s done !
How does a consultation go?
1• Once the appointment is booked, we contact the patient by WhatsApp to confirm some details.
2• After confirming these elements required by the doctor, the appointment is confirm.
3• 10 minutes before the appointment, the doctor will send the connection link. Then the patient will connect using Google Chrome and wait for the doctor’s approval to start the meeting.
4• The consultation begins in audio or/and video according to the doctor’s needs.
5• Finally, the doctor issues the diagnosis and advises a treatment. The patient will receive the details by email within 24 hours.
What if the patient has connection issue?
1• Be sure to connect a few minutes before your appointment.
2• Please use Google Chrome to connect and make sure to get network, data and battery. We recommend that you set up in an enclosed, quiet and bright space.
3• After joining, please wait for the doctor’s approval to start the online consultation. During the meeting, the doctor could ask you to activate or deactivate your camera to limit the consumption of the data.
4• If the connexion is impossible by audio or video, the doctor will contact you by WhatsApp to be able to carry out the consultation properly.
Can a family member attend the consultation?
Sure. If the appointment was booked by one of your relatives, the consultation link is also sent to him by WhatsApp. He will therefore be able to attend the appointment with your consent.
However, we only accept one companion to allow the doctor to do his job in the best conditions.
Where is Medeecal located?
Medeecal is now available in The Gambia 🇬🇲, Ghana 🇬🇭, Liberia 🇱🇷 and Sierra Leone 🇸🇱. Soon, we hope to serve other countries: Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Togo, Burkina Faso.
